J-1 Program Goals

This program is designed to give international interns and trainees hands-on experience and insight into American workplace practices and culture.

When the program ends, participants are expected to return home and apply what they've learned while sharing their experiences with others.

It's also a cultural exchange—American colleagues benefit by learning about the customs, knowledge, and perspectives of international participants.

Changing Host Employers

Changing your host company is rare and only permitted under special circumstances—such as when your host is unable to deliver the training as planned or if a serious issue arises.

All transfers must be vetted and approved before you begin with a new host
